Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (or PCOS for short) is many things, but well understood is not one of them.

To find out more about it, we touched base with Dr Kirsty Walters from UNSW who published her research that PCOS originates in the brain, not the ovaries. We talked PCOS basics, her latest cutting edge research findings, and a future cure.

This resource is best suited to Year 8 Biology students who are learning about cells and body systems. The accompanying student research activity could be used to explore other ways scientific research has helped our understanding (and therefore treatment) of medical conditions.
